ORGANISATIONS

Major contributors to Cholsey's local knowledge of recent history were the Reminiscence Group, based at Cholsey Day Centre. Their efforts led to exhibitions and ultimately inspired the setting up of The Cholsey Archive. Standing, L to R, are John Money, Howard Brett, unknown, Sheila Drinkall and Mildred Taylor. Guessing that uniforms might have been waived until after WW1, the tentative date of this image of Cholsey Silver Band is 1925. L to R rear are Gad Baldwin, Walt Tyrrel, Joe Clifford, Bertie Hill-Baldwin, Jed Wyayy, Kruger Hearmon and Fred Hall (one name missing). Seated are Ted Taylor, Mr Wilmott (Bandmaster), Walt Morby and Jack Taylor. On ground are Den Taylor and Albert Taylor.Another possible date is 1913, when the band was formally constituted.
